UNSTOPPABLE - she follows the call of God

3 Feb 2016

This is for all the ladies today. It's a wee lengthy, but so worth the read. :)

2 Timothy 1:7 - God’s Spirit doesn’t make cowards out of us. The spirit gives us power, love, and self control.

Before we moved it occurred to me that God was reminding me of situations from my past that if not properly dealt with, could continue to be a hinderance on the full extent of God’s will on my life, even though I thought I dealt with them. I kept wondering why I kept running into the same issues over and over again...

Sometimes we need a reminder. We often come back to the same hurts as we are being refined. We come around and around but each time God heals us a bit more and we see truth to it in a new light and more healing happens. But until we GET it and take ownership, accept the facts, start healing and dealing, we will only continue to circle around those same issues. We can only get to the healing and dealing through our Great Father.

But often as we are being sanctified, He is using our hurts to bring it about. It had been a huge struggle to come to terms with this for me because for years I had suppressed those problems. I was blinded because I did’t want to relive those emotions and go back to that pain and hurt again. Those areas are what roots the issues I was dealing with, which would effect my family, how I am as a wife and as mother, a friend, a leader. I was easily short tempered, have lack of patience, anger, jealousy, no self-confidence, no trust and so on. I finally took the step and trusted God that I will be okay do deal with these things. I started seeing a professional counsellor and registered psychotherapist who is a Christian, to help get to the root of this giant snowball. I was finally ready to truly let healing take place and then can use those painful experiences into something good for God's glory and purpose and be UNSTOPPABLE.

Let me encourage you. Now is your time to start realising that you can be unstoppable through Christ.

Do you worry that God can't use you? Not everyone has a vocational calling but everyone is called to something!! Sometimes we are the hinderance to our potential, to our calling and purpose that God has for us because of our own selfishness and self pity. We become selfish because we use our pasts as an excuse to not be able to be used by God and then become the hinderance of someone else’s potential and or opportunity to be part of the kingdom of God. Here God is waving to you saying “HELLO! Only through me, I have healed you, I have washed you clean and made you white as snow.” God chose to carry those burdens for you so you can be free and be healed. He doesn’t want you to carry it.

1 Corinthians 6:11 (AMP) And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

Quit the thinking that God can’t use you because you might think your past is dirty, you’re just a royal screw up, you swear sometimes, or deal with lust, or have anxiety or depression. What ever you think it is that hold you back. That attitude stops today! Those are not your qualities, they do not define who you are. God will refine you. God is already using you, but you have to LET HIM USE YOU.

Ladies, it is time to WAKE UP!

God doesn’t just call the equipped, but surely He equips the called too.

Jesus never referred to the people who he was around as “sinners” but his friends.

In the bible, God used individuals to bring healing and deliverance to His people that we forget has “issues” too. For example: Noah got drunk, Abraham was too old, Isaac was a daydreamer, Jacob was a liar, Leah was ugly, Joseph was abused, Moses had a stuttering problem, Gideon was afraid, Samson had long hair and was a womaniser, Rahab was a prostitute, Jeremiah and Timothy were too young, David had an affair and was a murderer, Elijah was suicidal, Isaiah preached naked, Jonah ran from God, Naom was a widow, Job went bankrupt, Peter denied Christ - repeatedly, the disciples fell asleep while praying, Martha worried about everything, the samaritan woman was divorced, Zaccheus was too small, Paul was too religious, Timothy had an ulcer, and Lazarus was DEAD!

Just like a parent to their child; as the child grows and learns to walk and master new skills, the parent will only hold her hand so far. Eventually the child needs to take that next step on her own for her to realise that she can do it but still know and trust that her parent is still there watching so she doesn’t stumble. Some times we need to get a little hurt in order to finally get the point. God is the parent to us. Our Father takes care of us much more than we realise. Always there to catch us but wants to release us as we become unstoppable in fullfilling God's purpose in our lives and to others.

Back in the summer I was reading a book called A Leader In The Making (Essentials to being a leader after God’s own heart) by Joyce Meyer. In the introduction she talks about how everyone has gifts and potential leadership skills. Whether we choose to use them is our choice but can benefit so greatly if we do choose to. God has a purpose to use all of us and we all, whether realising it, have leadership tendencies.

Do you ever hear someone say about a child or a teenager “They are a natural born leader”. Which can be true for some, but then there are some of us that need to be taught those skills and work really hard at it and realise that because we had to work even harder to achieve that success or goal, we appreciate the “sufferings” along the way, which results in greater growth spiritually, mentally and emotionally.

Perhaps, sometimes we have these gifts that we don’t realise are gifts. It can be, to smile at someone when you walk past them whether you know them or not. Or a friend is not feeling well, so you bring them soup and tylenol. Or you go the extra mile to get those work jobs done so that the next person on shift doesn’t get left with a heavy load. Whatever it may be, ask God to reveal those unrealised gifts and ask him to show you how you can use them for someone on a daily basis. But it can be frustrating when we see all those naturally skilled and gifted people get all the “roles in the show” or all the solos or are always first to be picked. But somewhere along the line they need US quietly gifted folk to step up and pick up the slack a bit. Don’t feel like your efforts go unnoticed. There is ALWAYS someone watching. I love what Joyce says here, “It is amazing how many gifted people there are who are just sitting on the sidelines of life doing nothing. You may be one of them. I can tell you that where God uses you or not is dependant upon much more than just the gift or talent He has given you. It has everything to do with character - with maturity, with the fruit of the spirit, with love, with behaviour and with our heart attitude.” Too often we believe the lies that tell us we can’t, or aren’t good enough, or not “spiritual” enough, or too young, too old, too busy. Stop believing the lie that you can’t. God created you. He is the one who gifted you. There is no need to question His intentions, but you need to take the time to pray and ask God to tangibly show you those strengths and how you can use them for others so that even if you think it goes unnoticed, God notices and He is being glorified in the process.

For years I struggled and believed the lie that because I chose to make poor decisions in my teenage years and parts of my adulthood, and was sexually, physically and verbally abused in my past, that I am not worthy enough to speak to women and young girls who may possibly be feeling defeated or living a life of poor choices and or abuse. But once I actually let God in and show me those hurts and emotions, He showed me how I can be healed and use them and bring light to it and give others hope so some else can have the chance to realise their sense of purpose. I still on a daily basis need to ask God to show me. Each day brings something new and I want to be ready, don’t you?

We all are human and women so we are wired to be emotional beings. We were created that way for a purpose. But because it’s so easy for us to think with our hearts and wear it on our sleeves a lot, we then start to develop feelings of insecurity, inadequacy, and incompleteness, which then can go in a few different directions depending on how we react to those feelings. But all of those things stem from the same place of not knowing who were are in christ or not knowing all that we have in Him.

If God came to you today as a real person and asked you to do something out of your comfort zone or something seemly radical for you, without knowing what it was, why, or what the outcome, or for how long and God just says, “Do you trust Me?” would you do it? Would you go? What are some reasons that you think would be to keep you from fully trusting and stepping out in faith in to the unknown and calling in your life?

-Fear of the unknown

-Past issues

-Lack of trust

-Lack of patience

-Content current life situation

-Dislike change

-Our job

But how can we stay focused?

Hebrews 12:1 (CEV) Such a large crowd of witnesses is all around us! So we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won’t let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us.

This verse is telling us that if we are deciding to take the plunge and bestow all our trust unto God and let Him take the reins of our life and be fully guided by Him, then we must be willing to let go of any hindrance or weight in our life. Break those chains! There are so many types in hindrances to running the race. Too many commitments  will keep us from developing our potential. Letting other people control will keep us from our potential.  And NOT knowing when to say no will keep keep us from our potential. If we are going to do this and really seriously dive in to the unknown world of our Great God’s potential and calling in us, we need to ask the Holy Spirit for an awakening in our souls and an anointing in our calling. Remember that saying “no” to that next excuse that pops up is an okay thing if it means you are making room for The Spirit to move and work in you and your future.

Some you of you KNOW where God wants you but don’t know quite how to get there because there are too may commitments, or distractions and busyness in life. But some times we might need to let out a holy anger and say; No world! You are not going to do this to me any longer. I am not going to live in this crazy mary-go-round with no way of getting off it. I know what I am supposed to do, and I am going to do it. If you don’t like it, talk to God. He is the one who put this vision in me and I not going to frustrate myself all my life just not please you!”

If God came to you today and showed you where you would be in life 10 years from now and it was the most amazing life and everything seemed like a dream, do you think you’d still have that drive to chase after that dream or calling?

I believe that God places those dreams and callings in each of us individually because we EACH bring something different to the table. But that excitement and those desires and even glimpses of what we will do is just to get us excited so that we can learn to TRUST Him ….this is where we come back to the father holding a child’s hand until they trust and realise they can walk without mom and dad…

The lord is asking you to trust him. John 14:1 DO NOT let your hearts be troubled (distressed, or agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust GOD: so believe in and adhere to and trust Me. Ask God for discernment, wisdom, and clarity during the time of doubt and fear and lack of trust.

Even if we don’t know what stand ahead for us in this life and decided to stick with what seems “safe” and later on realised what your life COULD have been, if you just weren’t afraid, we just keep trusting God anyway. We live in a culture where we need things NOW we want to know NOW, NOW NOW NOW Jeremiah 29:11 For I (god) know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 TRUST in the Lord with ALL YOUR HEART and lean not on your own understanding: in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. I don't know about you, but my heart will guide me in some wayward directions when I let it lead. And then my heart gets too emotional...I understand a whol lot less without God's direction and leading in my life.

It says in James 27:2 (AMP) Consider it wholly joyful whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. Of course it seems ridiculous to find joy in our trials. God isn't saying to be naive and pretend it's not happening. He is saying remember that HE is how you can get through it so no need to fret. It's ok to find peace and joy in the storms becasue that is what makes you unstoppable. Don't submit to the fear that you can't. Submit to God and follow the call on your life.

Start right now. Go be unstoppable you beautiful woman.

Lots of love to you and thanks for reading.
